In varying locations around Chicago, playwrights, actors, and audience members gather to hear excerpts from the work of local writers. It's an accessible and supportive environment to get new works on their feet.

          Playwrights!

Submit 10 pages of your writing to us at TheMakeReady@dandeliontheatre.com with your name and the title of your piece in the subject line. Your sample of work is then eligible for a cold reading at any of our upcoming reading series. Playwrights must be based in the Chicago area and available to attend The Make Ready in person.

          Actors!

Get cast on the night of the reading. Arrive about 30 minutes early and let us know you're there. So far we've had great luck getting everyone who signs up in on the action.
